The example is beeing used to illustrate the method of citation worthiness, and the numbers are realistic in terms of what we actually have seen in the log files, and in the analytics data in 2025, across the 45+ websites we have collected data from.

At a Glance

  • The Problem: High organic traffic, but zero visibility in ChatGPT/Perplexity/Gemini answers (Citation Score: 38/100).
  • The Solution: Full implementation of The Citation Worthiness Framework™.
  • The Result: 31% increase in AI-mediated traffic and 2.4M NOK revenue growth.

The Challenge: The Hidden Content Paradox

“Regnskap AS” (anonymized client) is a leading Norwegian accounting software provider. Despite having strong SEO rankings for keywords like “beste regnskapsprogram,” they noticed a disturbing trend in Q1 2025: Traffic was stable, but conversions were dropping.

A Nettpilot 3LA Audit revealed the cause: When users asked ChatGPT “Which accounting software handles Norwegian MVA best?”, the AI recommended international competitors. Why? Because Regnskap AS’s critical data was locked inside PDFs and JavaScript accordions—making it invisible to AI agents.

The Strategy: Layer 3 Optimization

We implemented a 3-month turnaround plan focusing on the three pillars of Citation Worthiness:

1. Geo-Contextual Data Structuring

AI models prioritize content that matches specific local regulations. We rewrote their core guides to explicitly link product features to Norwegian laws.

  • Before: “We handle VAT reporting automatically.”
  • After: “Automated MVA reporting compliant with Skatteetaten’s 2025 RF-0002 standard via Altinn integration.”

2. Solving the “Marketing Fluff” Problem

AI agents categorize verifiable data as high-trust. We replaced generic claims with hard data points in the First-View HTML:

Marketing Claim (Low Citation Value)Verifiable Data (High Citation Value)
“Save time on accounting”“Reduces manual entry time by 12 hours/month (Avg. customer data 2024)”
“Trusted by many”“Used by 3,420 Norwegian SMBs as of Q4 2025”

The Results

Within 3 months, the brand’s Citation Worthiness Score jumped from 38 to 60. The commercial impact was immediate.

Growth in AI-Referral Traffic (July – Dec 2025)
  • AI Visibility: The brand is now cited as the #1 or #2 recommendation in 78% of relevant ChatGPT and Perplexity queries (up from 0%).
  • Revenue: Attributed +2.4M NOK in annual recurring revenue specifically to traffic originating from AI citations.
